Motivation Chant

I am far from a morning person. There are some mornings I have a hard time getting out bed and motivated to get moving. I would rather lie in bed and read or watch TV. So I asked around on a Facebook page called Wiccans  By Nature, and someone posted this motivational chant that really helps me!

Oh powerful Brigid, I call upon thee,
to bring me a healthy dose of energy.
Help me dedicate my time to motivate,
and transition my laziness to ambition.
With harm to none and repeated three,
in perfect timing, so shall it be.

Pretty straight forward, huh? I thought so too.

Sage Spray Cleanser

sages-05a-l

If you’re looking for a way to cleanse the home with sage without burning bundles of the herb, this is a great alternative!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Clear spray bottle ($1 at most dollar stores)

Sprigs of sage

4 cups of water

Any fragrant herb of choice- Sandalwood pairs nicely (1 tablespoon)

WHAT TO DO

Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the sprigs of sage and tablespoon of herbs and let it steep for 10 minutes (or until the aroma is right for you). Let it cool for a few minutes and then strain. Pour into a clear spray bottle. Label with date and herbs used. Keep it in a cool, dark place.

Ramblings of a Twin Witch: Morning Blessing Chant

Ramblings of a Twin Witch: Morning Blessing Chant.

This is actually a chant that is from my personal BOS and Blogger, erm, blog. Feel free to change anything you need to fit your style or path.

Morning Blessing

I call upon You, Sisters Three

You who sit beneath Life’s Trees

Bless and watch over me this day.

These things of You, I ask and pray

Mighty Clothes, You who spin

The Thread and yarn of life and whim,

Grant my thread be soft, yet strong

And the essence of my own life’s song

Mighty Lachesis, You who weave

And measure the cloth of Life with ease,

Weave my life beautifully.

With color and texture for all to see.

Mighty Atropos, You who slice

Life’s fabric and thread with a snip precise,

Grant me now another day

To return to thank You- this I pray

Mighty Ones, oh Sisters Three

You who sit beneath the Tree

For each day I awaken to

Accept the thanks I offer You!

Are Stove top Brownies Possible?!

Tags

, , ,

I’m not happy to say this, but our oven no longer works. Dad tried to work on it yesterday, and found out that we only have 2 burners working and no oven. Once the weather cooled down, we were gonna start baking, and without an oven, we can’t. But then I started to wonder if it was possible to make stove top brownies, Imagewithout baking. Being a brownie freak, I will gladly spend an hour trying every stove top brownie recipe until I find one that works. I did find a couple of stove top cookie recipes, but since cookie dough is way different than brownie batter, I think the stove top cookie recipes would come out just a big gooey mess.

So I think eventually I will choose a couple of recipes (more like 5) and try each one out. I will keep you updated on which ones worked, and which recipes flopped.

Halloween is afoot!

If this seems familiar, more than likely you have seen it on Blogger. But lately, Blogger has been going crazy. It seems that more and more people are having trouble, yet Blogger is refusing to do anything about it. It’s very frustrating, especially since my major blog is still on Blogger. I would migrate that one to WordPress as well, but I would have to work my stats back up again, plus I NEED to get into Blogger to get my backup XML with all my stuff on it, but can’t.

But Halloween is around the corner and I could not be more excited! We visit Spirit Halloween (for the 2nd time for Twin, Dad, and I). Mom hasn’t been in a long time and even she wanted everything! We spent at least an hour or so in there, just seeing all the cool displays they have and I even managed to snap a few with my crappy cell phone.

I e-mailed Spirit Halloween, asking about their camera policy because I really want some better photos. Plus it would be easier to post than send it to my e-mail and cost me money.

"No More Espresso for You!"

I don’t know how many of you are aware of Klout. Klout pretty much determines your influence online, on social media sites. Anyways, I had gotten enough K+ (where someone gives you Klout in a certain category) in Food & Beverage to snag a FREE can of Starbucks Doubleshot Espresso. I don’t drink espresso a lot because the caffeine is just too hard for me to handle. So I drank some but ended up giving about 65% of it to Twin. What possessed me to do that, I have no idea.

Twin isn’t a big espresso drinker either. In fact, I think that was her first doubleshot of espresso ever. Now, add Starbucks Doubleshot Espresso on top of an empty stomach plus very little sleep. Remember that squirrel in Hookwinked that drank coffee? It was like riding in the car, doing errands with that squirrel. When I would look back at her, her eyes would be wide open and she would just be talkin’. After a few minutes, I replied with “No more espresso for you, sissy.”.

The only thing she hated about the espresso? The crash that came later!

Screwing Around in September…

During the cooler months (usually before it’s starts getting bitterly cold), Twin and I will spend an hour or two just taking picture of each other. There’s usually funny ones in with the soft and sweet ones. Sometimes someone will throw in a serious “children of the night” sort of picture in there. Okay, we do those every time we have a “photo day”. Anyways, tonight, we decided to do that before it got warm again. I thought I’d show you some of my favorites!

There are some more, but they require editing. Considering it’s almost 9pm, I have no desire to really edit a lot of pictures. On a single “Picture Night”, we can easily take up to 100 photos. Ever since I taught Twin some photography, she’s usually the one behind the camera, trying her new “skills” out. What can I say- 2 witches are better than one!

Morning Blessing Chant

I usually say this blessing when I wake up because it’s a great way to start the day feeling grateful for everything the Goddess has given you. You can change anything you need to. You will need to light a white candle before, though.

Domestic Witch?

I don’t know why, but lately I’ve been feeling like the house needs a little more… witchery included. I don’t know if anyone feels the same way, but I tend to feel more “witchy” in Autumn. I want to go overboard on rituals, decor, and sometimes spells. But this Fall, I feel like I should be including more magick in my day to day activities of domestic-ness.

Usually when I clean or do laundry, I dread it. Our washer connection is in our detached garage. And since our dryer died, we have been hanging clothes on a clothesline. Because the Summer has been brutal, it’s hard to get the motivation to go outside and do laundry. The same goes for cleaning. It’s hard to think about keeping the household in tiptop shape when the temperature is 100* or more outside, and with 1 working air conditioner, the temperature INSIDE the house can be right about there. But now that Autumn is upon us, I fear that I won’t have the same motivation I usually do, considering everything that has been going on this year.

I might just have to come up with a chant or mantra to get myself going. Or maybe think of a reward for doing it afterwards. Or maybe I will just snap my fingers and let the broom clean by itself and the clothes jump in the washer and then hang themselves on the clothesline. Or maybe I really need to figure out what “Witchy Housekeeping” I can do that will get me motivated. Right.
